Vaudezilla - Red Hot Annie began her burlesque career as a solo performer in Jan 2008. Keith Emroll (aka Dick Dijon) began shooting and editing video for Annie to provide content for her personal website. Both of them were performers at heart, with over 20 years of combined theatrical production experience. As Annie’s burlesque career progressed, she and Keith started to talk about producing their own shows with an eye towards bringing a more theatrical style to the scene and to provide more opportunities for the Chicago burlesque community at large to perform and increase its visibility.
In July 2008, they formed Vaudezilla and have gone on to accomplish both, with their regular monthly BROADZILLA! show at Exit and the 18-month run of their weekly bartop show at Blue Bayou. They are also the creators of “Rollin’ Outta Here Naked: A Big Lebowski Burlesque,” which stood in 2009 and 2010 as a critically-acclaimed, nationally recognized, box office smash hit. In 2010, Vaudezilla launched the monthly burlesque show “Lincoln Fair” and “Show and Tell Cabaret,” a monthly variety show that features only Chicago’s best talents in music, comedy, dance, and burlesque.
